Post-doctoral Fellow
Posted on September 15, 2013
Postdoctoral Fellow positions are available in the Hand Research Laboratory, Department of Biomedical Engineering of the Lerner Research Institute at the Cleveland Clinic. The Cleveland Clinic provides an outstanding interactive environment for biomedical research training with state-of-the-art support facilities. Some relevant information of our hand research can be found at www.handlab.org. The research projects are related to the sensorimotor control of the hand with the clinical applications to carpal tunnel syndrome. The positions involve interactions with members in various basic science and clinic departments such as bioengineering, rehabilitation, and orthopaedics. An applicant should (1) have a PhD degree with strong research experiences, (2) have an academic background in biomechanics, biomedical engineering, kinesiology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, orthopaedics, neuroscience, or other closely related discipline, and (3) demonstrate a strong interest in studying biomechanics and motor control of the hand and upper limb. Expected work for this position includes some of the following: performing experiments with human subjects and cadaveric specimens; using motion analysis systems; being familiar with robotic technology; programming with Matlab, LabVIEW and others; collecting, analyzing and interpreting experimental data; constructing biomechanical and mathematical models; and helping prepare manuscripts and reports. The positions are to be filled as soon as possible. Interested candidates please send a cover letter, CV and contact information for three for references to Dr. Zong-Ming Li (liz4@ccf.org or lizongming@gmail.com).
